This webinar has now ended. Please view the session recording below.

Get an introduction to the Backdrop CMS and it's all new Layout module!

Have a look at Nate's slide deck for the session.

Backdrop is very similar to Drupal 7 in terms of code while providing many of the features of Drupal 8 (such as configuration management and Views in core). However, Backdrop has a different project philosophy from Drupal, in that it values backwards-compatibility. It is the belief of the project that maintaining a greater level of compatibility will lower the overall cost of learning, building, and maintenance of software; making Backdrop better suited to lower-budget sites than Drupal 8.

We take a look at why Backdrop was created and learn about it's unique Layout module. This module is a ground-up overhaul of the blocks system that offers equivalent functionality to the Panels module in Drupal. Layout module includes an all-new UI and deep integration into Backdrop core. Join the webinar to find out what's great about Backdrop.
