Website Migration From CakePHP to Drupal for Humanity United

Established in 2005 and with offices in Redwood City, California, and Washington, D.C., Humanity United works to build peace, promote justice, and advance human freedom in the areas of the globe where these ideals are challenged most.

This website is an effort to spread the word to a larger audience.

The site existed in CakePHP earlier. However, the client decided to move onto a better and easy to manage platform and found Drupal to be similar to their expectations. The migration process was simple and required various MySQL queries. A lot of News articles [along with the categories] were migrated using the process.

The site not being continuously updated gave us the relaxation of NOT using any “incremental migration” methods. The theming of the website was redone and a much cleaner look was designed to ensure the site looks good and information flow was natural.

The organization of the news content was the most important task during the technical architecture discussion.
